KAITIAKITANGA: LEADING IN A TIME OF CHANGE

ANZATSA

Last week, the three New Zealand harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) agencies (Safe Network, STOP and Wellstop), with support from our Melbourne colleagues, hosted the annual ANZATSA Adolescent Roundtable where we shared insights on strengthening our services and improving outcomes for rangatahi, their families, and the wider community.

It’s challenging to lead an adolescent harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) service when both the environment we work in and the nature of HSB are changing. This year’s theme, Kaitiakitanga: Leading in a Time of Change reflects the dynamic and ever-changing environment for our organisations.

It was a great opportunity to share, learn, and connect with our New Zealand and Australian counterparts! Topics included the latest in HSB research, recruitment, retention and engagement of great staff, managing a communication crisis, understanding the political landscape in relation to HSB, and an introduction to the new Press Pause website; designed to help adults understand, recognise, and respond to rangatahi concerning sexual behaviour.
